The intensive exploitation of mineral resources causes serious environmental pollution. Many other disasters made the situation even worse including tailings dam failure, underground voids collapse and land subsidence. Today efforts were made by the Chinese government to prevent mining accidents and minimize the damage to environment caused by mining operations.
For the first time, the International Seminar on Paste and Thickened Tailings will be held in Beijing, China. Paste 2017 will be a valuable international forum with an emphasis on paste
backfill and stacking with paste or filtered tailings. This seminar is to contribute to the developments in various technologies relating to paste, and provide a valuable opportunity which allows professionals from diverse industries to discuss and understand the application of best available paste technology practices, how these applications can enhance their operations, and how paste technology can improve our world.
The objectives of the Seminar series are to disseminate the advances in technology made in the field of paste and thickened tailings, and provide a forum to present and discuss field applications, and obtain feedback from practitioners working at mine sites worldwide.
The seminar will be of interest to people involved with tailings disposal technology services and products that enable the application of paste or filtered tailings, and in the stacking of tailings in a manner that reduces water use, water seepage and need for dams.
The theme of Paste 2017 is "Innovation in Paste, Development for Mines".
